There are no easy words to describe the pain of losing a child. In 2020, Sinead Gibson’s world was split in two when her beautiful daughter, Diva Elizabeth Gibson, died by suicide at the age of 26. In the aftermath, time became defined as before and after — and Sinead discovered a poignant, heartbreaking detail: Diva’s birthday, 10th September, is also World Suicide Prevention Day.

Out of profound grief, Sinead found a calling: to create something powerful, healing and full of light.

Introducing the Every Little Thing Festival.

On Sunday 7th September, the Reading Biscuit Factory will host the Every Little Thing Festival — an inspiring, deeply meaningful event created in memory of Diva and in service of everyone who may be struggling with mental health and those who may be supporting them.

The name says it all. In the wake of tragedy, Sinead came to a vital understanding: there was no single reason for her daughter’s death. Every little thing contributed—both the moments that weighed heavy on Diva’s wellbeing, and the missed opportunities for support and connection.

“I realised that different people held different jigsaw pieces,” Sinead shares. “Had those pieces come together earlier, Diva’s death might have been prevented.”

🧩 Piecing It Together: Community Support That Makes a Difference

The festival’s mission is to gather those jigsaw pieces—bringing together NHS providers, charities, alternative therapists, and grassroots community groups—so that anyone seeking help can find what they need.

More than just a resource fair, this is a vibrant, energising celebration of life. From speaker sessions and workshops to sound baths, DJ sets and live music, the day offers warmth, compassion, and a sense of belonging.

“Getting through suicidal feelings is hard,” says Sinead. “But it’s worth holding on. We want people to know that there is hope—even on the darkest days.”

💛 A Day of Light and Laughter

The Every Little Thing Festival aims to do more than raise awareness—it offers connection, joy and moments of shared humanity. Yes, there may be tears. But there will also be laughter, dancing, and hope. Everyone who walks through the doors is invited to leave feeling just a little lighter.

Whether you're struggling, supporting someone who is, or simply want to be part of something meaningful, you are welcome. Every presence adds something powerful.

✨ Get Involved

Sinead warmly invites all who feel moved to participate—whether as speakers, volunteers, musicians, therapists or attendees to get in touch.

"We hope you will join us, adding light, hope and connection, and helping create positive memories for everyone who attends."
